Review by Michael Ary for Coleman Hooligan 2 Backpacking Tent Rating: I bought this tent last June as a "Gold Box" deal, so I saved about 40% off Amazon's regular price. I gave it to my son as a gift. We used it on a camping trip together, and I was amazed by it's lightweight, one-pole design. The one pole design allows for it to be set up in a hurry... handy if you get caught in the rain or have to set up in the dark. Speaking of rain, this tent will keep you dry as my son found out. It has a nice full-length rainfly. My son says that it has room for two and a vestibule pocket to keep your shoes and flashlight handy... otherwise you can store the tent stakes and cord in there when you want to fold it up. All in all it's a nice easy to use, economical tent. I think it's a bit too heavy for the serious backpacker, but it would make the perfect "back yard" tent.

The backpack looking case is sturdy but can be hidden in your hand. Comes equipped with six atiseptic wipes, 3 small packages each of hand sanitizer, atibiotic ointment, sunscreen, and insect sting relief. 1 large bandage, 2 knuckle bandages, and 5 each average size bandages, small bandages, and butterfly closures round out injury products. I feel this kit is too heavy on sanitation and "feel good bandages" and too light on emergency preparedness. I feel a first aid kit should contain at least 1 sterile pad, gauze, medical tape and a breathing barrier. Scissors, tweezers and eye wash are also important. What will you think is important when you are miles from help and have an emergency?

Review by Catrina L. Taylor for Coleman Hooligan 2 Backpacking Tent Rating: I just got back from Great Smoky Mt. National Park and my brother and I used this tent for 4 days of backpacking. It turned into 4 days of rainforest like climate and this tent didnt leak a drop. There were some substantial downpours at night that had me nervous about the money I had saved on buying this tent. The tent held up great. Just like any tent that I own it was sealed prior to the trip. Just like it was mentioned in other reviews you should prob. invest in better stakes as the tent is not freestanding so good stakes matter. The ones that come with it are the cheap metal kind that come with most small tents. I do have to admit that weight was a little much for backpacking but for two people you cant expect much more.

Review by for Coleman Hooligan 2 Backpacking Tent Rating: WOW! this tent is amazing. It had enough room to sleep two comfortably. It also had a vestibule for wet shoes or boots and maybe a backpack. Like most places the weather in my back yard was in a dry state so my dad and I tested it with the gardening hose. At first we did the regular rain and it was completely dry except for under the vestibule where the velcro on the door wasn't closed. After that we did the thunderstorm in which he aimed the hose directly at the tent and it still did not leak. After that I spent the night in it. When I woke up the next morning it was completely dry, and there were no dead bugs like in my bad, store brand tent that I had previosly. I would definately give this tent five stars and I would recommend it to friends and campers/backpackers everywhere.

Review by GeekMom for MSR Alpine Kitchen Set Rating: I have taken this backpacking and it worked well, yes it is small but msr is known for making products geared less for car camping and more for backpackers. so if you can spare a few ounces this is worth the comforts.

Review by Victor M. Cardona for Coleman Hooligan 2 Backpacking Tent Rating: I purchase this tent and used it the next day. The good: Lots of interior room, enough for 2 adults and 2 small backpacks. I was even able to fit a queen size coleman inflatable mattress inside(At home to test it)with room to spare. Very easy to set up, I read the instructions and timed myself, it took me 10 minutes. With screen mesh all around it was very comfortable, even with the Texas summer heat. Comes with a 5 year warranty. The bad: At 6 pounds Is a little on the heavy side for most solo backpackers(I personally don't mind the weight in exchange for all the room). The tent isn't free standing, make sure to get good stakes for hard or rocky ground. It didn't rain when I used it, so I can't comment on how waterproof it is, but I always seal the seams on all my tents as soon as I buy them.
